Born in Austria, Hedy Lamarr became a Hollywood star and was recognised as “The Most Beautiful Woman in the World”. However, she was also a scientific genius and inventor. Indeed, one of her inventions became the blueprint for Wi-Fi. Her remarkable story is told by William Roy and Sylvain Dorange in their graphic novel, Hedy Lamarr: An Incredible Life

Hedy Lamarr began her acting career in 1933 in the controversial Czechoslovakian movie Ecstasy. However, in Hollywood she achieved great fame in movies such as Algiers (1938), Lady of the Tropics (1939), Boom Town (1940), H.M. Pulham, Esq (1941), and White Cargo (1942). Her greatest screen role was as Delilah in Samson and Delilah (1949).  In her later career she appeared on television before the release of her final film, The Female Animal (1958).
