In order to cope with Swingle’s revenge attacks when we left her home alone, I did some research and found I was doing the right thing in walking her before, But distraction was needed and this is best through a dog’s stomach. I came up with an actimel bottle filled with dog food .hard plastic thats difficult to chew, smelly chews hidden in squeaky toys and covered in a sock, her scooby snack ball, which is hard plastic with a hole for the treats to trickle out, a good old fashioned bone, and leaving a sample packet of dog food for her to break into, and even strewing small treats over the floor. It worked. BUT I didn’t reduce her morning feed, with the result I suddenly noticed that while Swingle has the most beautiful, shiny coat, I can no longer feel her ribs unless I poke her. She’s coming up ten months so most of her growing is done. So now poor thing, is only getting half her breakfast when she has her treats in the day!!!!
