Weekly Photo Challenge: Thankful

Well, as a Christian, there can be only one thing to be thankful for in the sense of the Thanksgiving celebrations in the USA, and that’s the Cross.  The empty one. Because he is risen!

This is a Lungau traditional weather cross, there are lots of them put up in the fields, as a prayer to God to protect the farms from bad weather in all aspects of Farming life.  They are decorated with little symbols such as little animals, wheels, ploughs and so on.

  1. Dear Anna,
This is a lovely shot–the light and color are really beautiful. I also love that you share some of the traditions of the place with us–fun facts that help put photos and life there in context. Thank you for another great post.

  6. Amen to that. I could hear my mom as an evangelical pastor saying the same thing 🙂
