So where's the snow?

Muddling through in Austria; God, life and a small black dog

Weekly Photo Challenge: Friendship

These two lads are regular riders at the St Georgiritt in Thomotal, I’ve photographed them since 2007. This year they had a horse each, so this is the best , the friendship between these two brothers must be good, you can’t fight on a horse!

  1. Oh, it is a very big horse. Look great! I wish you a great sunday!

  2. The horse would probably sense their animosity and toss them off. But you’re right…they do look calm, serene and happy riding together.

  3. Great picture. It’s rare to see horse in this week’s theme. Nice interpretation. Love it. Horse is one of man’s best friend.

  4. Do riders have to dress like this? They look very smart and were really enjoying it!

    • The boys are wearing ‘Tracht’ which is traditional costume, especially the Lederhosen or the leather shorts. Not really practical for riding, but a lot of Austrians wear it to every social occasion. I’m always being asked what is English National costume and we don’t really have one, so I say jokingly a football shirt!
