Mutant Dandelions!!!!!

We spent some of the May holiday hacking off the local bee population by grass/dandelion cutting, and I found several of these freaky thick stemmed mulitple headed freaks.  I expect its a result of frost damage to the plant, but crazy aren’t they?????

  1. Our dandelion’s in Ontario, Canada are growing in clumps of up to eight, no stems, just bunches of tops!

    • How strange! Did you have a particularly hard winter too? I’m driving Dave mad when we’re out walking with my mutant spotting, its seems to over all this end of the valley.

      • We had a very mild winter. The change in the usual weather pattern had our garden bulbs breaking through earlier, and other flowers budding when they shouldn’t be. It’s a though everything is miniature! They have since grown and seem to be coming along fine. I’ll be keeping a note of how it effects them in the long term.

      • We had a very mild autumn, which caused major panics in the ski regions where the snow was late, then we had tons! Maybe thats a factor. I’m now out looking for mutant buttercups, cowparsley, daisies………..

      • Hope you’ll keep us up to date. I’ll let you know if we find more mutants.
